12/12/12

Around this time next week, we will be in the middle of closing on our house! I think 12/12/12 is a great day to close, should be easily remembered. We have Lowe's set to deliver our appliances on Friday and the movers slated for Saturday morning. The house was cleaned yesterday and the place looks great. Only a couple very minor things I see that need attention, but that's to be expected. Anyhow, I hope everyone is enjoying their build and having a fun holiday season thus far!

In the mean time, enjoy a picture of our (what we think is an) awesome shower! LOL

We found out about the dreaded white soap dish too late in the game to do much about it. It doesn't bother us too much!

  1. Great size! And the white soap dish isn't bad.

  2. Love the shower!! I was checking out our bathroom to see what we can create later. My husband isn't budging! He is attached to the jacuzzi tub in the bathroom; however, he did come with a great idea of having the tile wrapped the entire area from the shower to around the tub. Not bad!

    Thanks for the inspiration!!

    1. Hi Teresa! I don't think we upgraded to have the bench in the shower. It was my understanding that the bench came with the shower. Ryan Homes never mentioned to us about losing the bench. Hope this helps!

  4. Hey there, how's it going? My wife and I are in the beginning stages of building a Palermo in Newport News and we're very excited about the process. We signed contracts last weekend and had our meeting with the loan officer and flooring design the following day. LOTS of decisions to make but we're really enjoying the process thus far.

My question is about your shower choice. I LOVE how it looks and we actually picked that single shower choice first because the blueprints showed that the master closet would be bigger with that option (and we luuuuv closet space). We changed to the soaking tub/shower option with resale in mind and thinking that potential buyers are going to want a tub in the master suite. We're not dead-set on that decision and after seeing your photos I'm definitely reconsidering it. Is the dual shower head and option or did it just come like that? I'm also hooked on your description of a MASSIVE WIC. Do you have pics?

Thanks in advance for your help and I'm sure I'll probably have more questions (sorry!) :-) Take Care

    1. Thanks for the compliments! We absolutely love the Roman Shower option, and are extremely glad we chose it. We too thought about resale, but ultimately went with what we wanted and disregarded what others may or may not think. The dual shower heads came with that option as well as the bench. Just make sure if you chose this option to express to your salesman you want those things, though it should come with it! As far as the closet space you gain, it's sooooo worth it in my opinion. My wife and myself never take baths, and we opted for a full basement bath, so we figured if you really want to soak, we have 2 other tubs. We are extremely happy with this choice and it worked out perfectly for us! I'll try to post some pics of the closet to give you an idea!
